ABOUT

A dual citizen (USA / EU), spends his life between Madrid, Puerto Rico, New York and Malaga.

Fell in love with photography at an early age, after purchasing his first camera, a
Pentax K1000

Upon finishing high school in Spain continues his education in New York city, uncertain of which career path to follow. Spends a couple of years in college, while also carrying out his first jobs (Lab Technician, Yellow Cab Driver, Chauffeur, Import and Export, amongst others).

His first contact within the creative industry came in the 80’s while working at the mailroom of legendary advertising agency
Ally & Gargano (thanks Kiki), as well as his first commercial shoot with director Patrick Kelly (thanks Corky). By now convinced that his future will be in the audiovisual industry.

Decides to drop out of college and to continue his education in the field of media. Takes several courses at School of Visual Arts and later receives a diploma in TV Production from the Center for the Media Arts.

Returns to Madrid in 1991 to work full time with top fashion photographer
Alejandro Cabrera. An all-round job; key photo assistant on shoots, his first production assignments, traveling around the world, working with top models and celebrities…who could ask for more?

In 1995 starts freelancing with several production companies, working his way up the ladder in production; from runner, location scout, assistant, coordinator, production manager to producer. Very grateful to the two companies that have influenced him the most during his beginnings:
Tesauro (thanks Susana) and Setama (thanks Laurent).

It is in the field of “production services” where Luis finds his niche, and where he his efforts since the year 2000. Up to today he has worked full time at four different production service companies, two of which he was responsible for setting up and launching internationally.
